Hello, my filthy little loves
Whoa, I really worked quite hard with this layout! Gosh, I HATE blogger. KILL KILL KILL. I'd just want to make the layout by myself from the beginning - it would make things so much easier. I know the header is really simple and this is all black and yadda yadda yadday, you'll just have to deal with it for now. (Or am I the only one having a problem with this...? *Is such an ass about layouts*)
Well then. I guess it's time to introduce the project Saastahovi, in English Court of Filth, to you, officially. So I shall paste here the description that is most likely full of grammar mistakes and other poop, but please don't care about it - it's written in the middle of the night in twenty minutes ca.
"This is a fairytale. A fairytale you didn't want your parents to tell you when you were little. One of the stories that make you keep your windows closed and curtains down, and sleep with the lights on.
You know the stories about princesses like Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. They were all good. Such goody two-shoes. Cinderella and Snow White had evil mother-figures, Snow White's even tried to kill her. Sleeping Beauty was cursed by an evil witch. But in the end, all of them ended up with handsome princes in big castles. Happy ever after - and such lies.
This story also has a princess, but she's not like the others. She's the nightmare Sleeping Beauty saw in her dreams, the shadow Snow White feared in the forest. She's not good, not good at all. No one dares to say her name – no one even knows if she has one, since it has not been said aloud in centuries or so.
For every princess, there is a prince. For this princess, there have been hundreds of princes – not one of them being good enough for her, for she is evil and not able to love. There is no love in her poisoned heart, her eyes are venomous and her words are toxic. Her mother is Despair and father Hate.
Every once in a while a prince or two comes to her castle, trying to win her heart despite the rumors surrounding the black figure. Every competitor she gives missions for them to go through, and as they lay worshiping kisses on her soft hands and leave, she laughs at herself and commands her loyal servants after them. She has no intentions to marry, nor to belong to anyone. If someone would survive and return to the castle, would she let her loved little pet end the prince's miserable life.
Her court is not made of fancy, polite lackeys with tailcoats and beautiful maids with braids and dresses. Her servants are filled with bad thoughts, vengeance, grudge and poison – there is no humanity left in those who once called themself human.
They would die for their princess – except that they can't. None of the Court of Filth will die, as long as there is evil in the world, for they are fed by the bad will and grudge the mankind holds.
This is the story you didn't want to hear, and it has no happy ending – for it will never end."
The main idea is that we have a somewhat whole plot and a few beforehand told roles, these being the Princess, her Knight, the Fool, the Darling, the Witch, the Lackeys and the Maids, and the Princes. From time to time, we dress up as the characters according to the theme, and leave for a suitable place to hold a photoshoot.
Theme
I don't think it's very hard to come to the conclusion that the theme of the project is somewhat very dark. The models create and design their characters by themselves, and come to the photoshoots dressed according to the theme. They can change the design to every photoshoot if they will. Changing the design from time to time is very highly recommended, since Court of Filth is a long term project, meaning that we will hold quite many photoshoots. The pictures will get boring if the design does not change at all.
The clothing themes dance around gothic, aristocrat, lolita, cyber, steampunk, militaristic... And the list goes on. Only imagination is the limit for the models. ...imagination and the story, of course. The color world is mostly black and shades of gray. Brighter colors can be used in hair and details in clothing, but they are not recommended in bigger pieces of the costume. There is no limit for canvas choices - models can use anything from PVC to velvet, satine and leather.
Designing the costumes, there are two words that should be remembered as guidelines: "Apocalyptic fairytale."
Characters
I present you: short and somewhat crappy descriptions of the characters in the story.
The Princess of Filth is evil and murderous, and cares for nothing but herself, her Beloved and her loyal servants.
The Knight exists for nothing but to kill everyone trying to take his princess's freedom. Never leaves the lady's side.
The Fool is the one to make the princess laugh with slaughter and despair.
The Darling was once human, now the princess's loved little pet ripping everyone's throats the lady tells to rip by saying the simple words ”I love you”.
The Witch serves the princess's every wish and works her black magic to fill as many hearts as possible with depression and anger.
The Lackeys and the Maids have no other will but to serve their Lady and get rid of everyone trying to cure her poisonous heart.
The Princes are the poor unfortunate souls eaten by the Princess' venom.
The idea is that once models get their roles, they design and create the characters more spesifically by themselves, staying - of course - inside the lines the role gives them.
Place
The "crew" works where ever they find a good background and they can get to. At the moment the project seems to be centred around the Helsinki-Tampere area, mostly.
Backgrounds should, again, fit at least one of the words "apocalyptic" and "fairytale". Still, using brains is recommended - as probably everyone can judge by themselves, photoshooting a story like this in bright daylight in middle of flowers isn't exactly smart. But then again - what wouldn't our friend photoshop fix for us?
Got anything else to ask? Please, do. It is highly possible that I've forgot something important. More spesific introductions of the characters will come later, this entry already has enough text as it is.
